Marbella: Tips for a top night out

Marbella is known for its miles of sandy beaches (and beach bars or Chiringuitos) serving drinks and Mediterranean food, its stunning Paseo Maritimo (promenade by the sea), old town, parks and art like Avenida del Mar for works by Dali, plus great shopping. There is plenty of family fun activities too (try 'Funny Beach' for a great day out!) However by night, Marbella really kicks into gear - there are a plethora of clubs, bars and places to either dance the night away or just to chill at. Here is our pick of the bunch:

Club Pangea in Puerto Banus, chic and cool, located at the far end of the port by the luxury yachts. Be there early unless you like to queue. Top international DJs and pre booked packages such as the Vodka Package await (replete with vodka, cava and mixers all on the table) which start from just over £400.

Aqwa Mist in Puerto Banus, a great night out with La Sala bar and restaurant just above as a way to kick things off. A state of the art sound system, Super VIP room and dedicated waiter service mean only the most well heeled frequent here.Capacity of 600 and you can boogie till dawn. There are impressive water features!

Bijoux Banus in Puerto Banus. One of the Linekers' bar chain, its also a place for celeb spotting with cocktails on the menu. Possibly more of a pre club spot than nightclub, but made the cut as Geordie Shore are known to partake in a beverage or two here from time to time!

Nobu Marbella - Located at the Puente Romano Beach Resort, indulge on Yellowtail, Black Cod and possibly some other colourful aquatic life as well as a few locally inspired dishes. Designed by Jean-Pierre Martel, one of Spain's leading design visionaries : get ready for contemporary style and an electric atmosphere.

Iglu Chill Lounge - Estepona. This is an uber trendy stop off as bars go. Beautiful design and impressive lighting make this a place to see and be seen in, also a place where you can take a pew on the outside terrace, watch the swaying palms and imbibe a little champers (after all, one is on holiday...) They also do pizzas, so something to fortify the soul before commencing.
