All aboard for the Yacht Regatta St Tropez!

For the boat lovers amongst you, get prepared for a nautical extravaganza this autumn as the ‘Voiles de Saint-Tropez’ yacht regatta celebrates its 19th run. There are usually some 300 boats – measuring up to 50 metres a piece – taking part. The Gulf of St Tropez is filled with colour as the good natured events takes place, a landmark in the calendar for native Tropezians and visitors alike.

You will see classic sailing yachts and extraordinary modern yachts compete alongside each other for the chance to win the Rolex trophy on the horizon.  Competitors come from all over the globe; there are five days of races to spectate at.

St Tropez is a fun, lively place at any time, but when the Regatta is on, things rise to a new level. Best place to start is the Grand Village – with a bar terrace and entertainment. After that, finding a spot for lunch (book early as the best restaurants will be busy) and cheer on your favourite yacht. Round off your day strolling cobble stone streets, shopping in the designer boutiques and maybe stopping in one of the water front bars for a cocktail.
