Tips for first timers: Mykonos

Located in the azure Aegean sea, one of the Cyclades group of islands, it is approximately 85 kilometres square in size.
The town of Mykonos itself, on the west coast is also known as Chora (meaning 'the town' in Greek, part of the Greek practise of naming the island after its principal town).
The appeal of a visit here is huge, take your pick from :

35 stunning beaches (find your sun bed, watch some yachts and then have your lunch in the taverna behind).

The Windmills of Mykonos - dotted around the landscape, they are one of the islands most prominent features (quite a few are now used as permanent residences by locals).

Little Venice - located near Kastro, the little houses huddled along the coast bear a distinct similarity to the famous watery city, but with their own unique history. A romantic spot indeed...

Gialos fish market - a great spot to pick up catch of the day, prime the barbecue at your villa and enjoy a taste of the sea.

Nearly 500 churches...part and parcel of Greek island life - well worth an explore.

Archaeological sites - explore the past of Mykonos and add in a trip to the neighbouring island of Delos with its thousands of year old ruins.

Museums - there are numerous, many with archaeological significance.

Art Galleries - paintings, handmade furniture and mosaic - no snow shakers in sight, just genuine 'take me home' souvenirs.

The Discovery Glassbottom Yacht - as pictured above right - is our saving the best till last. Exploring underwater flora and fauna has to be one of lifes true pleasures and doing it from the comfort of a yacht is perfect. The Glassbottom Yacht owner Dimitris proudly proclaims:
