Its that time of year again when most villas have their peak
weeks all booked, aside a few odds and ends and our customers are making their
preparations for a week (or three) in the sun.
Shopping lists will doubtless include a few bottles of sun
screen, new swimming trunks, sandals…you get the drift! The question though,
where is everyone going this year? With our finger truly on the pulse of villa
fashions and the latest ‘in vogue’ destination, we give our top 5 villa
destinations as voted by our customers this year:
Portugal
The ever present, ever popular, ever green (mainly because
of all the verdant golf courses possibly!) Algarve is in top spot. We can’t get enough of it and
neither can you it seems. The resorts of Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura and Quinta do
Lago will be seeing a few 360 guests this year, we hope swinging the golf
irons, lazing by the pool or exploring those wide expansive beaches.
Spain
Another perennial favourite and we can see why. Assured
sunshine and a great quality of life, right on the doorstep in short haul
flight terms. This year has seen Marbella in action and Costa Brava, water
front villas seemingly what is needed and we wouldn’t blame anyone for wanting
that.
Balearics
Ok so we cheated a bit, they should fall under the Spain banner, but the
Spanish islands have been popular. Ibiza the party isle and Mallorca both ooze
obvious appeal. Villas from the modest family outfits to some stonkers have
been called up, we have nothing but envy (so please enjoy and send us a
postcard!)
Mykonos
The preferred haunt of a few of the 360 personnel, this is one of the places
this year to see and be seen in. Whether it’s the laid back lifestyle, clubs,
bars, beaches or just the vibe of fun in the sun Greek style, it’s a top
performer.
Croatia
Croatia and her beautiful islands have a unique appeal of
their own. Whether you like a bit of jetset on the islands dotted around (Brac
or Hvar for example) or enjoy a city / beach experience in Dubrovnik or Split,
or just to disappear into the gorgeous countryside of Istria, we know what you
are getting at.
Our tip for next year: Montenegro. If you have seen it and
done it (and loved it) with villas, our top tip for something different but
from a solidly luxurious villa base is this relatively new kid on the block. We
also think Comporta in Portugal is something of a hidden gem and is going to
hit the headlines any day soon. To whet the appetite:
